Electoral Committee
The Electoral Committee coordinates Savannah DSA’s electoral strategy, candidate and ballot research, endorsement work, voter contact, and member participation in electoral campaigns.

The committee helps members evaluate races, candidates, ballot questions, and opportunities for chapter involvement.
Committee work can include research, canvassing, voter contact, political education, candidate interviews, endorsement recommendations, and post-election accountability.

What the committee does
Endorsement process
Develop recommendations through the chapter’s endorsement process while preserving the General Membership’s authority over chapter endorsements.
Field organizing
Train and mobilize members for canvassing, phones, texts, voter education, turnout work, and other campaign activities.
Voter education
Produce plain-language information about local races, ballot questions, voting stakes, and chapter positions when approved.
Candidate accountability
Track endorsed candidates and relevant officeholders after Election Day and organize around commitments made during campaigns.
Member development
Give members practical experience with voter conversations, turf planning, volunteer coordination, data, research, and campaign strategy.

Endorsement process
The committee may research candidates, conduct interviews, develop recommendations, and organize work around a proposed endorsement. Formal Savannah DSA endorsements remain subject to the chapter’s democratic approval process.
